WOODLAND FASHION SHOW

OK Ladies, are you ready for this year's fashion lineup? It's inspired by nature...actually, it IS nature! This is the color-scheme we're going for:

First up we have this beautiful 4 leaf clover which goes wonderfully with the green of this Joules vest....
...WHAT? You're not impressed? Hmmm, a bit harder to please than I thought. Alright, how about this: TWO 4-leaf clovers...

...STILL not lighting your fire? Well alright then, check THIS out....

...that's right, it's a FIVE leaf clover! *phew* you are some tough fashion critics!
Now let's put these rare luck charms to ready-to-wear use:

On to more colorful items...take a gander at these firey beauties. They have more than one use.

You could wear them on your lapel, like this:

....or in your hair, like this:

Boots are a big trend this year. Spruce'em up with fall foliage! All the top models are wearing them like this, I promise!

Make any simple 'do more elegant with a sprig of wild clematis:

And for those of you who are in a more flamboyant mood, check it out:

...A gorgeous hat with crimson plumes!

That's it for human fashion for now. Up next, here's Kiki, modeling the latest in Canine Trends...

...oh NO! Kiki, what have you done?!

....You've rolled in something dirty, rotten, disgusting, and smelly, and ruined the fashion show!

But Kiki remains indignant and sings: "I am beautifuuuul, no matter what they saaaaaaaaaaaay...."

....Well, you can't argue with that.

'treasure hunt' through the village

It began as a simple stroll with my mother and Kiki through our little village Gablitz; no great expectations, maybe a nice sunset shot.
But it turned out to be an impromptu treasure hunt. Here are images of the precious things we found:

...lovely buttery leaves...

...plump, glossy rosehips...

...mist and tranquility on the hillside...

...a community of tiny mushrooms...

...a perfect dining table for a fairy teaparty...

...and here, the little stools for them to sit on...

...an elegant, willowy mushroom, which I can imagine lights up in the night as a sort of street lamp for the fairies and elves...

...a street lamp and pathway for the humans, already strewn with fallen leaves...

...a stout apple tree, heavily laden with rosy fruit...

...the church, majestic in the glow of the setting sun...

...and here it is, the perfect moment...light piercing through the trees...everything peaceful and still...birds returning to their nests, and folks settling down around their dinner tables...another September day spent...and now we are one step closer to Fall.

Hip Hip Hooray! A Rainy Day!

Drip, drip, drip. Everything wet and shiny. I love rainy days!

...birds soaring against a pewter sky...

...fallen leaves glistening on the fragrant ground...

...a farmer's work is never done...i like their machinery...

...oooh la la! colorful stripes that keep my toesies dry....

...life is good when you learn to love nature in all of her different forms...

...and life is even better when you have a spaniel to share it with...

...autumn knows her stunning beauty and creeps in bit by bit so as not to overwhelm us all at once...

...look at that...

...this golden leaf likes my boots...
...and i like the golden leaf!

artistic conversions

I thought you might be interested in seeing how photography inspires me. I am not good at painting from memory or fantasy, but I do enjoy enhancing and changing the colors of real things in my paintings. Here is an example of a smoky pumpkin which I found beautiful and was immediately inspired to paint. You can see that I stayed true to form, but perked the colors up a little.
