  2. Great article. I enjoyed reading it-- thanks for sharing!

I agree with a lot of what's being said in it. It IS unfair that so many lose their savings and assets and go into deep debt at the cost of unexpected illness. We probably would, even WITH our health insurance. Something should be done to help and "reform" the system so that health care is the blessing it should be rather than a burden. My parents struggled to pay for health insurance when I was growing up. They gave up a lot to pay for that security. One of my close friends was just diagnosed with MS. She would not be surviving financially if she had not had health insurance prior to her diagnosis.

What I don't understand is how Pres. Obama's administration plans to provide equipment, build hospitals, and train dotors and nurses among other staff to be ready for the inlfux of patients that will occur within a year after passing this legislation. I just can't wrap my brain around how our already-crowded Medical system can accomodate it.

I was glad to hear the story about the woman from Italy. And I'm sure the people writing the Bill have thought of accomodation issues and how to handle them. It's just a huge step for the U.S. and there are a lot of questions. The U.S. was not founded on big government, which is essentially what this new plan is offering, but on the other hand I realize it WAS founded on an ideal for OPPORTUNITY and freedom and justice for all. So, how does a country balance opportunity without big government? I don't know. And I don't think EITHER of our two major political parties are addressing both sides of that question.

    What do you think?

Send me anything else you run across. I really did enjoy reading it, and it makes me feel better to hear indiviual stories. Have a great weekend!
